All donations made to the PLAN of PA Foundation will directly benefit the individuals served by PLAN of PA. Your gift helps support PLAN’s services — including our Representative Payee Program, a vital but underfunded service.

Many people with mental differences who receive Social Security support have cognitive deficits that make it difficult for them to manage their money on their own.  For this reason, the Social Security Administration requires them to find a Representative Payee — such as PLAN of PA — in order to obtain their government assistance. 

PLAN’s Representative Payee Program strives to ensure the money is used for daily living needs, including housing, food, utilities and medical care. Social Security pays PLAN a fee to provide this service; however, the fee currently only covers 58% of our program cost.
