Connection Amidst Quarantine

Our team at PLAN of PA knows that everyone responds differently to a crisis such as the one we all now face. In times like these it is so important to support each other. What can we each do to expand the latitude we show one another and increase the amount of appreciation we express. Whoever you are quarantined with - it is so important to come to terms with what you each need to get through this as best as possible. To maybe become stronger because of it.

If you are quarantined with someone else:

1. What can you do today to show them support? Have you asked them what you can do that might be helpful?

2. How might you express to them what they could consider doing to help you go the distance?

If you are quarantined alone: How can you virtually connect? Here are some ideas that may work out better than binging Netflix or watching the news.

  • Google inspirational videos or a TED Talk on Resilience, Hope and the Power of Belief

  • Post glimmers of hope that you find to inspire others

  • Talk a walk, stretch out on your porch

  • Make a healthy meal

  • Write down 3 things for which you are grateful and breathe deeply while expressing that internal gratitude

  • Download and use a meditation app - find a topic like managing stress, facing fear, fostering resilience

  • Take an exercise class online

  • Facetime and talk about something you find truly meaningful and positive

These are just ideas. Truly we have no answers. In these difficult times we know that inspiring connection and our own belief that this too shall pass is key. Start a ripple of positive impact. Post your positive observation or insight with the tag #Ripple.

Our Care Managers are available for consults and support. Once again we have no answers, but we can be sure we are stronger when we are connected.
